Nice attempts.. Always be carteful not to use a wide angle for the structural parts like Buildings, Towers etc.. as it distorts the picture unless you want to have a very dramatic effect..
The panning shot was good. To creat more speedy effect try using a slow shutter speed and bring in more zoom...
